The U.S Election

Wed Nov 05 22:03:05 UTC 2008

Big night last night here in the good old US of A!!!!

Jen and I sat up and watched as Obama won the vote to become the next President of The United States of America.

Usually I don't get caught up in politics but with 2 of my boys being Amercian I took an interest in the election.

After being named the winner Barack gave a speech in Chicago which included a line that rang true.

"We are not red states and blue states, we are the UNITED States"

I thought this summed up what is needed not only in America but around the world.

People are the answer!!!!

Maybe its just me but his words gave me a sense of hope for the future.

Enough about politics...

I had a great day yesterday writing with Brent Maher and Mark Selby.

We ended up writing 2 new songs which I hope to include on the new record.

I continue to write even though I have more than enough material for the new album.

Basically I'm trying to beat what I have. This is the only way to ensure the best.

Gotta run, writing with Tia Sellers and Victoria Banks this morning.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and I'll drop another line soon.

Have a great day!!!.

Johnny

Hello Johnny Yes I believe Obama will be good for not only the United States but for the rest of the world as well. Glad to hear your having a grand time writing...looking so forward to the new CD. Keep up the great work and keep having fun doing it. Will see you in November in Dartmouth; maybe Carla will have more bacon wrapped scallops for you. Take Care and God Bless

I am really looking forward to the new album, I saw Johnny in Winnipeg at the Club Regent, it was only my 2nd concert in my entire life, front row seats, I really enjoyed myself and the fact that you spent time talking about your family, your best friend and your life in general. Thank you for that, I think it made me feel almost like a friend. Thanks again. Carol

What touched me in Barack's speech was when he said that the people spoke and the reigns of power are changing without any bloodshed and it really made me think of all the countries in this world that go through revolutions, and war in order to have a change of power. I also loved the part about the elderly lady and all that she had witnessed in her lifetime. Amazing.
