Johnny Reid Packing the House to Ring in the New Year with Port Cities and Matt Minglewood

Friends and five time Nova Scotia Music Award winners Port Cities, along with Matt Minglewood, North Sydney's own East Coast Music Award winner will help ring in 2019 with JUNO Award winning singer-songwriter Johnny Reid, whose New Year’s Eve Kitchen Party at the Rath-Eastlink Community Centre (RECC) in Truro, NS is almost sold out! New seats have opened up to experience Johnny and his special guests say good-bye to 2018 and greet the New Year into Truro, his only stop on the east coast during this holiday season. Johnny Reid, Port Cities and Matt Minglewood for one New Years Eve only! Don't miss out!

Port Cities has a chemistry that’s been perfected during the 100+ dates they’ve toured in the past year. They’ve continued to explore and evolve their ambitious pop sound, leading the band to numerous accolades, including a whopping five Nova Scotia Music Awards, a SOCAN #1 Award (for “Back to the Bottom”), and stints at #1 on CBC and Spotify charts. Their success is largely built on a simple but timeless approach: a good song is a good song is a good song, melding diverse musical backgrounds to create an alchemy that’s part art, part songwriting science, and all magic.

After a dozen recordings, Matt Minglewood has been honored with numerous accolades, music awards, nominations, 3 gold albums, an honorary doctorate from UCB university, and Entertainer of the year & the Lifetime Achievement Award from Maple Blues Society. In a climate ripe with ever-changing musical styles Matt's artistic character has been defined by his simply remaining true to himself. He is on stage the embodiment of a Southern rocker but with an eclectic twist. His music and song writing has the natural universality one only hears from a born storyteller.
